A high-quality water source is essential for various industrial applications, including feed water for steam generators, drum boilers, pharmaceutical industries, research laboratories, etc., with the requirement for Conductivity concentration as low as 0.01 µS/cm.
Q WATER provides demineralization solutions employing the following processes:
– Electro De-Ionization (EDI)- Conventional
– Demineralization
The traditional demineralization process, utilizing ion exchangers, involves a combination of Cation Exchangers (which exchange positively charged ions or cations), and/or Anion Exchangers (which exchange negatively charged ions or anions), and/or Mixed Bed systems capable of simultaneously exchanging both Cations and Anions.
The process flows in series; the raw water enters the cation exchanger and passes down through the resin bed where Calcium, Magnesium, Sodium and other cations are removed from the water in exchange for hydrogen ions. The water then passes through the anion exchanger, where Chloride, Sulfate, Bicarbonate and other anions are removed in exchange for hydroxide ions
The demineralization process typically aligns with a 1-pass, 2-pass, or 3-pass Reverse Osmosis (RO) process, effectively lowering the Conductivity value to an acceptable range for Demineralization process design. The entire process solution is custom-designed, engineered, prefabricated, and pretested before dispatch from the factory, ensuring minimal on-site installation and commissioning efforts and time. Q Water Demineralization systems are available in skid-mounted or containerized options.
